The first step in account verification is to set up two-factor authentication (2FA). This is required before you can complete your personal identity verification. This will help secure your Mamoru account and all of your transactions.

1. Log in to your Mamoru account or see How to sign up to register and get started. 
   
   
2. From your account dashboard, navigate to the  
   
   
3. From your profile page — Step 2 — 2FA, click the  [Set up] button. 

4. Select [Email verification]. 

6. Click the [Next] button. 

7. A verification code will be sent to that email. Enter the 6-digit verification code that you received.

8. Click [Submit] to set up your email for two-factor authentication & your Mamoru account. 

9. Click [Close] in the confirmation pop-up window — continue connecting an Authenticator app, or you can skip this step for now.

NOTE: We highly recommend using an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, to enhance the security of your account and transactions. 

 Authenticator App — (Optional Steps)

1. From your Mamoru account profile page, click [Set up] below Step 2 – 2FA. 
   
   
   
   
2. Click [TOTP Authenticator]. 
   
   
   
   

3. Download a one-time password Authenticator App on your mobile device. We recommend Google Authenticator app. Once downloaded, click [Next]. 
   

   

   
   
4. You will now see a QR code on your screen. Follow the instructions on the Authenticator App to scan the QR code. 
   
   
   
   
   
   
   IMPORTANT: Save your backup key on paper and store in a safe place. This key allows you to recover your authenticator in case your mobile device is lost.
   
   
5. Once you have written the key down, click [Next]. 
   
   
   
   
6. Enter the 6-digit verification code from your authenticator app on your mobile device. 
   
   
   
   
7. The authenticator app is now successfully enabled to be used with your Mamoru account for 2FA.
